| DLK was retained to design
this mid-rise mixed use development project as part of a joint venture
with Northern Realty and Loewenberg Associates. This project is
on a critical site in the redevelopment of Chicago’s South Loop:
at the intersections of two public transportation lines, adjacent
to the new Museum campus and lakefront parks, and across State Street
from Dearborn Park, a very successful “new town in town”. The 600
foot site offers an opportunity to make diverse housing types, while
its State Street frontage is prefect for varied, community and service
retail, which is lacking in the neighborhood. The project is designed
for 212 residential units that offer a great variety of life style
choices. A 20 story high-rise will offer a mix of one, two and three
bedroom units, each with a balcony. Low rise structures will accommodate
a different variety of housing choices in three story buildings
oriented to gardens. Residents of the development will be served
by a dedicated level of parking, as well as their own recreational,
garden terraces and individual security systems. |
