| DLK provided planning, urban design, and architectural services for this new
elevated train stop at the Harold Washington Library, fronting State Street on the east and Pritzker Park on the north. A street-level loggia connects the rail station with bus and subway lines on State Street, making it a major circulation node for the Loop.
The station, with its red brick circulation tower, ornamental metalwork, and loggia,
was designed to respect the tone set by its civic neighbors,
particularly the Washington Library. The project included construction of new elevated platforms, canopies, a station house, and an
elevator and escalator tower to meet ADA accessibility.
